The Third Annual 5+8 Gift Guide
I had a client ask me “Where is the gift guide? I was looking for it on Cyber Monday.” And, I was like, “you took the gift guide seriously? That’s awesome!” Sorry we missed Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday, but here is our gift guide just in time for Forgetful Friday!
I am proud to introduce you to the 2020 gifts and the wonderful people who swear by them.
A Grey Sweatshirt
RECOMMENDED BY ADAM
Last year, I chose a grey t-shirt, so this year I thought I’d go crazy. The pocket is a bit weird, but I like it. They have cool colors and an option without a pocket. It’s a slim fit, so size up or be slim.

Flavortown Flag
RECOMMENDED BY JEFF
This could be the best money you ever spend. The detail really comes out in person. It's a truly inspirational piece to have in your home workspace or hanging from your apartment balcony. It's also a great reminder of where we are all trying to get to in our lives: FLAVORTOWN. #TripleD

Always Pan
RECOMMENDED BY SHARON
It's made to replace eight standard cookwares (steamer, saucepan, frypan, etc) so you can just use this one pan for everything. I also love their mission and what they stand for—embracing different cultures and types of foods—and it shows through their social media!

Belt Bag
RECOMMENDED BY SARAH
Not as stupid looking as a fanny pack, but with the same functionality of one. It's been perfect for all my walkin' I've been doin...and grocery shopping. Because it's sleek it makes me feel less like a dork! Not too expensive either – which makes it a good gift because it's kind of expensive for a fanny pack so people wouldn't normally buy it themselves...thus making it a good gift to give. Also it comes in a 5+8 red!

Hand Blender
RECOMMENDED BY LINDA
There can be so many gadgets in the kitchen, but this is definitely in my top 5 favorites. It's one of those things that I wouldn't think to get myself, but every time I use it, I'm really glad I have it. You can blend soups, sauces (great way to kick up that spaghetti game), and, heck, even smoothies if you're feeling up for it. It's super easy to clean and because of its shape, it's great for a smaller kitchen. IMO, this is perfect for that person that is starting to get really into cooking.

Shades
RECOMMENDED BY KATY
I love a good pair of stylish & fun sunglasses and yet I tend to lose them. My solution has been to stock up on a bunch from a brand called Knockaround in several styles and colors and keep them in my car, apartment, purse, etc. They're usually around $20 and you can customize them, too. And they're fantastic quality for the price! I bought a fun pair to give to a friend and ended up keeping them.
$20
Dutch Oven
RECOMMENDED BY DAVID
2020 has been the year I rediscovered my love of cooking at home. I've been talking about buying a dutch oven forever and my wife surprised me by ordering a LeCreuset. They are on pricier side, but last forever. It is hands down my favorite thing to use in the kitchen.

Freshly
SPONSORED AD FROM ADAM
I just started having these sent to the office for lunchies. They’re easy and taste really good. It’s kind of expensive, but I think I’ll save money in the long run by not randomly going out to lunch. Here’s a $60 off coupon for you (and me).

Adidas Ultraboost 19
RECOMMENDED BY GABE
I bought another pair of Adidas Ultraboost 19 running shoes. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I even paid full price for them.

Cookbook
RECOMMENDED BY AUDREY
For someone who loves to cook, this book is such a delight. It's not vegetarian specifically, just more interesting ways to cook with veggies—which I think we all need after months of quarantine cookie binges. I love this book so much that I immediately purchased six (SIX!) copies as gifts for friends. After making the green beans, I actually emailed the chef/author to let him know how much I enjoyed his cookbook. (He wrote me back and was very nice.) Can you imagine being that inspired by green beans? I can, thanks to Joshua. Buy it from your local bookstore!
Hammock
RECOMMENDED BY ADRIAN
Hammocks are fun and they're super compact. This is the kind of thing I think most people would really enjoy but maybe wouldn't buy for themselves unless they go hiking a lot or live on a college campus. But they're fun.

Affordable Earbuds
RECOMMENDED BY Ade
These off-brand Earbuds are a great gift for people who don’t want to spend $200 on Apple Airpods. They are pretty durable and versatile. Highly recommended for your friends who are into fitness.

I hope everyone gets everything they want this year. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year to all our friends and family. Thank you for sticking by us during this crappy crap crap of a year.
