The Second Annual 5+8 Gift Guide
I had a client ask me “Where is the gift guide? I was looking for it on Cyber Monday.” And, I was like, “you took the gift guide seriously? That’s awesome!” Sorry we missed Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday, but here is our gift guide just in time for Forgetful Friday!
I am proud to introduce you to 2019 gifts and the wonderful people who swear by them.
Air Purifying Bag
RECOMMENDED BY ADAM
My car stank. The roof was leaking for a long time and made my car smell like Bobby Boucher’s locker. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to get it cleaned. Nothing worked, except this bag. You just leave it in your car and it sucks up the stink. It makes a great gift for that special someone.

Collegiate Super Fan Shirt
RECOMMENDED BY JEFF
This is the perfect shirt for any LSU, or college football fan in general. It's extremely comfortable and high quality. I highly recommend this for anyone that's looking to step up their gameday drip.

Houston Blue Tile Pin
RECOMMENDED BY KATY
People who love Houston tend to looove Houston, so if you also love a well-made enamel pin, then this lil guy was made for you. I have received so many compliments on this pin, especially since it's based on the historic street signs that you can still find around town. They're also made by my good friend Josh Higgins, who makes some other rad things, and he's a Houstonian so huzzah to #supportinglocal!

Animal Hangers
RECOMMENDED BY KATY
Also, I just have to throw these in there...I was amused by these animal hangers. Everyone uses hangers and (mostly) everyone loves animals, so why not get a hanger where it looks like an animal of your choice is wearing your clothes? My personal favorites are the cowboy cat and tuxedo-wearing fox. They're strange, useful, a bit comical and just a little creepy.

Jono Pandolfi Mug
RECOMMENDED BY HARPER
Perfect gift for an everyday coffee drinker and will absolutely change their coffee drinking experience. This mug has some unique design features that make it so much better. It is also made by Jono Pandolfi who makes Handmade Ceramic Dinnerware and other items in New York, for Michelin Starred Restaurants.

Tom Bihn Backpack
RECOMMENDED BY LINDA
I spent two weeks in Thailand with only this backpack (and a small day pack that I shared with my husband). I can't recommend it enough. My favorite thing is that it's small enough so it doesn't look like you're carrying a suitcase but big enough for you to carry all your stuff. Plus, on top of it all, the zippers are water-resistant.
PS, we did use compression packing bags to make our clothes super tight.
Great for light travelers!

On the Fly 7/8 Pant
RECOMMENDED BY SARAH
These pants. They look nice AND are super cozy. I wear these pants at least twice a week (to work and out-n-about) and have had them for over a year and they still look new. They don't need to be dry cleaned or ironed, and can be rolled up or rolled down. I highly recommend!

Atlas Wing Backpack
RECOMMENDED BY SHARON
Mine's gonna be this bag– It would be a great travel bag or every day bag because it can be a tote, side bag and backpack! (comes in four colors and yes you can fit your laptop in hea!)

Adidas Ultraboost 19
RECOMMENDED BY GABE
Mine is Adidas Ultraboost 19 running shoes. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I even paid full price for them.

JBL Flip Speaker
RECOMMENDED BY DAVID
I bought this bluetooth speaker from JBL last month to use around the house and outside. The sound quality is really outstanding for such a small speaker and as a plus it is waterproof. It is perfect for traveling as it fits nicely in a backpack. It cost about $100, but you can find it on sale for $60-80. They come in a variety of colors. Honestly it is one of the best things I've bought for myself this year.
$80
Spoke-art
RECOMMENDED BY DAVID
My other recommendation for this year is get some art for your bare walls. Spoke-art has some amazing pieces of screen-printed and giclee posters from pop culture to art. Currently they have an exhibition of art inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright worth checking out.

Aeropress
RECOMMENDED BY ADRIAN
I'll go with an Aeropress. I bought this as a gift for someone else, and they liked it so much I bought one for myself. It doesn't take up any space and you can make a single cup of coffee with no waste. Plus you can take it camping.
