Here are a bunch of words we felt were worth putting on the internet. If you choose to read these words, you'll likely get to know us a little better. Which will help you decide if you want to hang out with us later.

Werk smorter, not harder.

Werk smorter, not harder.

When Adam told us he was making us each write a blog post, I panicked. What was I going to write about? Who would care about what I had to say? Then I realized there's an easy way to get others to help give me content: a Q&A, baby. Let the people tell me what to write. Werk smorter, not harder. 😉

A special thanks to the whopping four people who submitted questions on our Instagram! I appreciate your help, truly.

Q: What are some best ways to stay organized?
A: This is an easy one, as I consider myself super organized. 💁🏼‍♀️ Make lists! This is key to remembering things, and visually seeing what needs to be done or what you need to get/pack, etc. You should see my Notes app, I really do have a list for everything. My other advice is to create a file labeling system and stick to it. Not only will your Finder look hella organized, but you'll easily be able to find and search for you files.

Q: What font would Donald be?
A: For those of you that don't now, Donald is my cat. I'm going to go with Cooper Black for one obvious reason: because Cooper Black is a fat font and Donald is quite hefty herself. (Yes, Donald is a female.) Also if she could talk I bet she'd be sarcastic, and Cooper Black seems like a sarcastic font to me.

Q: Adobe phasing out Pantone colors? NBD?
A: Honestly, this is news to me! I've always felt that the Pantone colors in Adobe don't match the swatches in our swatch books that well so good riddance, tbh. NBD!

Q: What are your real thoughts on Comic Sans?
A: I think it's funny when used ironically, but you will never catch me using it seriously. I don't think anyone uses it seriously anymore, right?

Q: What was your most proud moment as a designer?
A: Aw man, it's tough to pinpoint one moment! I will say I'm always proud of myself when I find a solution to a challenge a client has given us, or when I figure out some sort of code on my own without having to involve our developer. (Those moments actually make me feel like a genius.) And also all the little moments when I hear people compliment my work without knowing I did it. Makes it feel super honest, ya know?

Q: Last meal: Chick-Fil-A nuggets or Berry Hill fish tacos?
A: Neither! It'd be the crab bisque from Bazille at Nordstrom for me, dawg. (Berry Hill fish tacos are only good when they are $2 on Mondays. Full priced fish tacos just don't taste the same.)

Well, that's it! If you ever have any more questions for me, you can reach me at sarah@5plus8.com

Update: Since this post has been written, all Berry Hills in Houston have mysteriously closed. No more $2 fish tacos on Mondays. But Bazille is still thriving!
